adventures of a belly dancing acupuncturist

This started as a travelogue to Turkey in the fall '05 so that I wouldn't have to send multiple emails and postcards. I'm still adding anecdotes as I remember them, but it's morphing into a "rant to the ether" spot. Stay, or go. This is my bit of space to do with what I wish.

Aseret Y'mai T'shuvah/Navaratri

The lunar calendar is so much more interesting than the solar one, to think that Judaism has prescribed prayers at the beginning of each month - the new moon. Love that residual Goddess influence there.

With the new moon of a week ago, Jews began the 10 days of asking for T'shuvah, forgiveness, with Rosh Hashannah and conclude it with a day of pounding at one's chest begging the big guy above to be included in the book of life for the next year. The Hindus have Navaratri, which was explaned to me as 9 days of celebrating the divine mother, revelling in her embrace.

Which one sounds more inviting?
